This design has been created with the beautiful Di Ford Hall range of fabrics, Oak Alley by Andover Fabrics. I felt very honoured to be entrusted by Nicci, Di’s daughter, with the pre-release fabrics to play with and I hope you love this gorgeous design as much as I do.

I have tried to ‘use’ the fabrics as I thought that Di had created them for. This was a lot of guess work and trial and error (no doubt Di would have nailed it in an instant!). She always said to try to get the fabric to work for you…..I was jumping around doing a happy dance when I realised that the first leaf border actually read like a wavy seam to your eye. I’d like to say this was intentional, but really it was pure delightful chance.

I have named this quilt design Quilters Entwined as I met Di in the very early days of my journey with my love of reproduction fabrics and designs. It was when social media was just taking off and we all began interacting sooo much. Through that, and groups and chance meetings, I have and continue to, enjoy a connection with many wonderful like-minded people, crossing paths (hence the cross blocks!) with new stitching friends all the time. There is always the common thread of quilting and stitching that brings us together (that’s where the significance of the central wreath design comes in), and keeps us interacting and sharing and inspiring each other. I thank Di for lots of that inspiration, especially after launching into business with my passion.

This quilt combines broderie perse, applique, English paper piecing and machine piecing.

Quilters Entwined can be created in 2 colourways – teal/brown or red/black. This kit provides all the fabrics for the RED/BLACK colourway.

Kit includes the pattern  with full size pattern sheets, as well as close-up photos and detailed instructions and all fabrics for the quilt top and binding.
