Inspired by Jane – Jane goes to France version – Pattern – design by Shiralee Stitches
$30.00
My version of Jane Austen’s gorgeous quilt has been revisited and reworked in a beautiful array of French fabrics by Kim Hurley for Devonstone Fabrics. I loved recreating this older design of mine. For a bit of fun I have called my French version… the ‘Jane Goes to France’ version!
The original Inspired by Jane quilt of mine was a beautiful pink toned quilt, created in stunning Di Ford prints with a broderie perse centre. I have created this version with a lovely toile print for the centre (no applique). The blurb on my original quilt pattern read….”I have often pondered over the beautiful Jane Austen quilt, housed and displayed in the UK. I love the simplicity of the diamonds and the opportunity they provide to showcase a selection of gorgeous prints. So I did my homework, sourced the correct angles of the diamond shape in Jane’s quilt, and came up with a quilt using her diamond inspiration. Of course, it is not a duplicate of her quilt, there are many differences, but it is most definitely “Inspired by Jane”. Design by Sandy Cousins of Shiralee Stitches.”
Machine pieced, with some cute little cornerstone motifs added by hand for a more organic feel, this quilt is sure to please.
