Description
Double Delight is Sandy’s version of the traditional Double Wedding Ring quilt design, enhanced with gorgeous broderie perse applique elements to add a soft and beautiful take on the traditional WR design. Finished along the outside of the rings for a gorgeous scalloped edge, this quilt is a real showpiece.
The rings are created using the English Paper Pieced (EPP) method in sections, which are then appliqued onto the background fabric. Floral broderie perse applique is applied at various stages in the progression of the quilt.
Absorb yourself in the most beautiful pink and light brown fabrics mostly from Edyta Sitar’s collections, as you enjoy many hours of calming and mindful stitching in your journey to creating what will be a lovely heirloom quilt.
As usual, Sandy has meticulously planned and prepared a comprehensive month by month layout for this Double Delight Block of the Month program, in the usual style that Shiralee Stitches is known to deliver, with great attention to detail and easy to follow accompanying notes and diagrams/photos. This is a small, limited run program.
Although appearing a daunting task to create a quilt of this nature, please rest assured, Sandy has cleverly broken down this quilt into sections which are presented clearly, and also allows for project portability, making this a perfect quilt for anyone who enjoys EPP and handwork.
There are 7 monthly mailings in this BOM program……and over the course of time will include:-
- all the fabrics required to create the quilt top
- exactly the same fabrics included in your kit as you see in the original quilt
- comprehensive technique notes/fussy cutting guidelines, fabric placement diagrams, pattern sheets
- close-up photos along the way
- all papers and perspex cutting templates required
- any tips/tricks/info we think you may benefit from along the way
Cost for this BOM is $89/month + p&h for 7 months, plus $89 one-off sign-up payment. (ie 8 payments, 7 mailings). The required perspex Template Set will be charged ($35) and included with the Month One mailing in mid August. In summary, excluding postage: Sign-up now $89, Month One $89 + Template Set $35, Months Two to Seven $89 per month. Payment for the ongoing monthly payments will be via card transaction and Sandy will be in touch to gather these details prior to the start of the program. International payments can be negotiated with Sandy as to what suits best.
A note on postage. All parcels are sent in tracked satchels via Australia Post. This is estimated to be $12.50 small tracked satchel each month for Australian customers (International customers welcome, please ask Sandy for a postage quote. If you order online, which you may wish to do to secure your place, Sandy will adjust the flat-rate postage overpayment for international orders once Month One is mailing). To accommodate the required US tariff for mailing to the US, please reach out to Sandy for a quote. We are keen for you to join and very happy to organise the mailing for you.
Please note that by paying your sign-up fee, you are committing to purchase the future 7 months and the template set to complete the BOM program. Cancellations will only be considered under special circumstances and the sign-up payment in credit will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
