The gorgeous showcase quilt, Rotherfield Greys, designed by Di Ford-Hall, which was published in her first Quilmania book, Primarily Quilts, is an English style frame quilt named after a village in Oxfordshire, England.

Rotherfield Greys is a 12 month BOM program

All fabric for the quilt top and binding will be included over the course of the 12 month program…….and, as per our usual standard of high quality, well-organised and planned BOM programs, we have already engaged our manufacturing friends, to produce perspex templates and their corresponding papers (where required),  so we can make the task of creating this quilt more enjoyable, and the cutting more precise. These templates and papers have been especially created for the Shiralee Stitches BOM program (not available for general sale), and will be delivered as required, in each monthly package along with your notes and fabrics.

Choose to English paper piece (EPP) or hand piece your elements, with our eye-spy templates, which will provide the ability to trace your stitch line on the inside, as well as cut your fabric on the outside.

For the larger pieced borders, choose to hand piece or machine piece, yet either way you will have the templates to assist you …and these will be invaluable for fussy cutting!

We are in the process of gathering all the right fabrics to re-create the flavour of Di’s original quilt as closely as we can. Some of these fabrics will be sourced from Di’s very latest ranges for Andover fabrics, some from older ranges, and various other reproduction designers fabrics, and wait for it….some occasional prints will be from the fabric vaults here at Shiralee Stitches (some wonderful prints, no longer available, that Sandy has been squirreling away, especially to spoil our BOM besties!!). You can see in the gallery, quite a few of the fabrics which will be heading into the quilt….just to entice you…

Soooo, let Sandy take you on a feast of literally dozens of beautiful fabrics to play with, in order to create this masterpiece :). Since Sandy will be creating our BOM quilt just ahead of the mailout, there is no final photo of the exact quilt….we hope that with our Shiralee Stitches reputation in fabric choices, you will trust Sandy’s ability to choose the perfect fabrics, and allow yourself to drawn into this amazing journey.

The finished size of this quilt is a whopping 84″ square (2.14m), so there is a large amount of fabric bliss being delivered in this program.

Here is the breakdown……

• 12 months x $78 AUD/month plus $9.20 p&h for Australian customers. International customers welcome, please ask Sandy for a postage quote. If you order online, which you may wish to do to secure your place, Sandy will adjust the flat-rate postage overpayment when the BOM begins in February.

Each month you will receive

• all fabric required (high quality reproduction prints in our usual Shiralee Stitches style), including binding
• perspex cutting templates (eye-spy style), as required, a total of 18 templates across the 12 months
• laser cut papers for EPP, where required, a total of 705 papers across the 12 months
• clear photos of the BOM quilt created with the exact fabrics in your kit
• Sandy’s notes, tips, tricks each month
• back-up support from Sandy via email or phone if you need it
