Mrs Booth’s English Garden Quilt by Shiralee Stitches…BOM….2021

$78.00

Join us to create a beautiful medallion style quilt, inspired by 19th century English quilts.

This pretty design began to hatch in Sandy’s mind following the news that Andover were going to re-print the very first fabric range designed by Di Ford in 2015, the lovely Cloverdale House fabrics, as a tribute to the late Australian ‘Queen’ of quilting Di Ford-Hall.

Named after Sandy’s Grannie, Mrs Booth, who lived in England, Sandy has included baskets and vases full of broderie persed English flowers, as well as a selection of Ruby Crown blocks (a variation of Sandy’s Ruby blocks), because any English inspired quilt must give a nod to royalty, right? Being created in fabrics designed by Di, we simply HAD to include some of Di’s favourite elements too, so you’ll see English paper pieced fussy cut flowers of course! …and then there’s the border print…the stunning column print from the Cloverdale House range, and we have chosen the lovely red colourway for this quilt. (see photos in gallery)

Known at this stage are the fabric choices, the elements, and we know we will enjoy broderie perse, applique, English paper piecing, and machine construction…….the full result though is a bit of an unfolding mystery, which we feel will be an exciting prospect, unveiling little by little each month over a 12 month period, and all delivered as one of our well-planned and comprehensively described programs that we are known to deliver here at Shiralee Stitches.

This is a 12 month BOM program……and over the course of time will include:-

  • all the fabrics required to create the quilt top, and binding
  • comprehensive cutting notes/fussy cutting guidelines
  • close-up photos of the applique, broderie perse, and EPP, created in exactly the same fabrics as are included in your kit
  • any papers and perspex cutting templates required (Ruby Crown block template set purchased at the start of the program)
  • technique notes
  • any tips/tricks/info we think you may benefit from along the way

Cost for this BOM is $78/month + p&h for 12 months, plus $32 one-off payment for purchase of the 3 piece Ruby Crown block template set)
